The Rogel cake, a traditional Latin American dessert, comprises layers of thin, crisp pastry filled with creamy dulce de leche. Stacked high and topped with caramel, it’s a delightful indulgence.

Ingredients for realize a Rogel Cake:

  • 1 pack of pre-made puff pastry dough
  • 1 can of dulce de leche
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Shredded coconut for garnish (optional)

Instructions for coking a Rogel Cake:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry dough and cut it into circles using a round cutter.
  3. Place the circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Let them cool.
  4. Heat the dulce de leche over low heat in a saucepan until it’s smooth and spreadable.
  5. Spread a layer of dulce de leche on each pastry circle and stack them on top of each other.
  6. In another saucepan, make caramel by melting sugar and water over medium heat until golden brown. Be careful not to burn it.
  7. Drizzle the caramel over the assembled cake, allowing it to set.
  8. Optionally, decorate the top with whipped cream and shredded coconut.
  9. Refrigerate for a few hours before serving, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  10. Slice and enjoy your homemade Rogel cake!
